3 june, 2008

Two former Nigerian Ministers were arraigned in an Abuja court Wednesday to face charges of alleged misappropriation of $165 million from federal coffers. Babatunde Borishade and Femi Fani-Kayode were accused of embezzling the funds during their respective tenures as ministers of Aviation in former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration. The case is the latest of a series of investigations that have accompanied President Umaru Yar'Adua’s "zero tolerance" campaign against corruption. [PE]
